This is a kominka (traditional Japanese house) that was used as a ryokan (inn) until now. Some of the rooms are currently rented out. Relatives are currently looking after the garden, but because of their advanced age the owner plans to sell. The building is around 50 years old, but the living area is in what appears to be good, clean condition. The owner also holds 377 sq m of mountain forest in addition to this property. The timing of the sale is negotiable.
The owner shares some memorable episodes with guests from the years of running the inn. These encounters are still treasured memories. A guest who came touring by motorcycle from Hamamatsu stayed here and seemed to enjoy relaxing in the cool, quiet surroundings. The guest was also pleased with the meals made with local river fish and wild mountain vegetables, and kindly said they were "very delicious."
When a novelist stayed at the inn, they were so taken with the scenery and culture of Anan Town that the town was later used as the setting of a novel. The story also introduces the Wagō Nenbutsu Odori (Wagō Buddhist chant dance), an intangible cultural property of Anan Town.
